WHEN

Spring 2015

One of the first industries to adapt Industrial Design was the furniture industry. Due to these beginnings, we as Industrial Designers have developed a strong appreciation for  furniture designing.

My own furniture designs  emphasize manufacturing and aesthetics, combining the two to create products that not only are attentive to and fulfill the user's needs but also are aesthetically pleasing.

These three 8x8 tables were hand-manufactured out of walnut slabs that were combined to create the table top as well as tub steel that I cut, angled and welded to fit the table's dimensions. Adding a “hidden door” in the middle of the table created a space to conceal cords while creating a smooth and clean work surface.

Creating these tables unleashed my passion for furniture design and construction using high-quality materials and hand-made goods. This project was so personally fulfilling that it inspired me to create furniture for my own use in my home.
